Nasum was chosen in November 2019 to represent the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League for the 2019–20 season. Nasum was included in the Bangladesh Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their series against Zimbabwe in March 2020. In a provisional team for the One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies in January 2021, he was one of four uncapped players. He was included in Bangladesh’s team for their series against New Zealand in February 2021. On March 28, 2021, against New Zealand, he played in his first T20I match for Bangladesh.

Nasum grabbed four wickets for 10 runs on September 8, 2021, in a T20 match against New Zealand, assisting Bangladesh in claiming the first T20 series victory over New Zealand.
