These colleges are more expensive, but they are well-known for the quality of their online programs.

With our Best Online Bachelor Degrees, we looked at universities at the undergraduate level as well. Our top candidates all have a strong track record of successfully teaching bachelor’s degrees online, but we also had some runner-ups. Because they didn’t have the same name recognition as our final 20, Champlain College, the City University of Seattle, and North Carolina Central University didn’t make the cut, but they’re worth investigating further.

Nursing is one of the most rapidly increasing professions in the United States. By 2026, one million new nurses are estimated to be needed to fill unfilled positions and replace retiring nurses. At three levels, we discovered the best online nursing programs:

Registered nurses with an associate or diploma in nursing can get extra training by enrolling in one of the best online RN to BSN programs. RN-BSN programs are becoming more significant as the Institute of Medicine and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing join forces to ensure that at least 80% of registered nurses obtain a bachelor’s degree by 2020. In addition to our top universities, we think Ashland University, Henderson State University, and Lewis-Clark State College are worth investigating further.

Nurses can specialize in their field by earning an online Master of Science in Nursing degree. Because of their training in caring for specialty groups such as the elderly and those suffering with addictions, nurse specialists are in high demand. While Ohio State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte didn’t make our top ranking due to their high costs, we believe their reputations and degree possibilities make them worth considering.

We looked at each university’s nursing department as a whole for the Best Online Nursing degrees, examining its chances for nurses at all phases of their employment. One issue to consider is that, due to a scarcity of nurse educators, there is an increasing demand for nurses to get doctorates. Jacksonville State University, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and Bradley University are among the runner-ups.
